This demonstration will be of particular interest to professional woodworkers, cabinet makers, kitchen fitters & furniture producers amongst others.

With two machines set up for you to try on the day (including the hand held and table mounted versions for doing long plinths & drawer faces) it is a fantastic opportunity to see the KA 65 in action.

This is your chance to pick up expert tips, advice and get your questions answered.

And, of course, you’ll have the chance to speak with the one and only Festool Vinny.

Stick Making Workshop Saturday 26th September 2026 10am - 2pm

The Celtic Stickmakers Club are holding another workshop on Saturday 26th September 2026, 10am - 2pm upstairs in The Carpentry Store featuring the skills of carving, jointing, stick bending and pyrography. Come along and find out more about this wonderful country craft. Entry is Free and we will have Tea & Coffee.

At this workshop Celtic Stickmakers Club would like to give people the opportunity to create their own stick by providing shanks and heads, and under the supervision of experienced Stickmakers put them all together and leave with a new perspective on this craft.

Founded in 2006, the Celtic Stickmakers Club has members from throughout the island of Ireland, and is growing all the time and is dedicated to promoting traditional stickmaking and to sharing skills, ideas and techniques to those beginning and experienced stickmakers alike. So don't miss this opportunity to join one of their workshops.

We are delighted to have a stand again this year at Taste of Kildare which is now one of Ireland's top food festivals. As always it will be a fun-filled weekend full of mouth-watering flavours, local craft, and live entertainment at Naas Racecourse on Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th August. If you are going make sure you drop by our stand on level 1. 

Now in its fourth year, Taste of Kildare has become a highlight on Ireland’s food and tourism calendar. This years event is expected to attract thousands of visitors and welcomes back Rachel Allen, one of Ireland’s best-loved chefs, alongside some of the county’s renowned chefs showcasing their signature dishes and local ingredients, sharing valuable tips that you can apply in your own kitchen. The weekend will be packed with entertainment, Craft makers and local artisan food producers.

We are holding some more demonstrations on Wednesday evening 7th May at 7pm and on Saturday morning 10th May at 11am come along and see the SawStop amazing Active Injury Mitigation System being demonstrated upstairs in The Carpentry Store… (we will be using a Hot Dog and not an actual finger 🌭).

Woodworking Demonstrations and Advice this Saturday 

This Saturday between 10am - 3.30pm we have a very exciting woodworking demo day. We will be joined by James Peer from Axminster Tools and he will be on hand to offer advice on machinery including our new range of Laguna machinery. James will also be demonstrating the UJK Parf system and tools.

Paula Gormley will be showing us her artistic pyrography skills and will have a couple of Peter Child Pyrography Machines set up for you to try. Paula will also be cutting veneers and talking us through the best way to approach Marquetry.

John Kane will be talking about Scroll saws and will show you the tips and tricks to make sure your projects are successful every time.

Adrian Finlay will be carving out some interesting pieces and will advise on how to get started and how to choose the correct tools. He will be happy to answer any questions on the best wood to use and how to over come the most common problems.

We are also delighted that Vincent Howard from Festool Ireland will be demonstrating the new additions to the Festool range and some of the old reliables. There will be special offers across the Festool range in store only this Saturday so drop in and get and try the tools you love.

There will also be demonstrations in sharpening and see the Shaper in action!

We’re also thrilled to give you a first look at some exciting New Brands to the store, including LAGUNA Machinery, SHAPER TOOLS, WOODPECKERS Woodworking Tools and the return of Lie-Nielsen Toolworks.
