The story stick is a time-tested tool that simplifies cabinet layout and the repeated transfer of measurements to your cabinet parts. Slide the provided markers onto a 1/2'' dowel, 1/2'' square tubing, Rockler T-Track or a strip of 3/8'' x 3/4'' scrap wood to indicate the positions of your face frame rails, or the dados in your casework. Once set, use the hook as you would a tape measure to transfer the positions to all of your stiles or cabinet panels as a batch. Since the indicators are fixed, it is much more foolproof than a tape measure. With a long enough stick, you can even use the kit to mark window, door and outlet locations etc. when measuring a room for built-in cabinetry. Two indicators may be used to check the diagonals of cases and drawers for square, or to achieve even spacing when arranging wall hangings. Stick/dowel not included.
