Two Day Introduction to Routing
Friday 1st – Saturday 2nd November
Time: 9.30am – 4.00pm
This two day course will introduce students to the versatility and benefits of routing. No previous experience is necessary and our instructor, Sam Abernethy will begin the course with a comprehensive overview of safety in the workplace & on the router. The selection and maintenance of routers (including cordless) and router cutters will be covered along with the use of the router fence, a selection of jigs & guide bushes.
Durning the course you will produce a panelled door on the router table and create joints by using the dovetail jig.
A maximum of 5 participants are taken on each course ensuring you receive adequate attention for the class duration.
Held above our store in Naas, W91XH68, our recently redeveloped classroom will provide you with a bright & spacious environment to work in. You will have use of all our classroom equipment & routers so it is not necessary to bring tools with you. Materials to work on will also be provided as will an apron & safety wear. It is important to wear comfortable & closed toe footwear – no flipflops or sandals are permitted.
A light meal & refreshments are included in your fee. Please advise of any dietary requirements at the time of booking.

Your instructor for the course is Sam Abernethy
A native of Belfast, Sam is a highly respected & experienced woodworker. Sam spent several years as one of the lead demonstrators for Trend Tool technology & has demonstrated & instructed at The Carpentry Store on many previous occasions. He has a passion for product development and outside routing and CNC work he is also a talented woodturner.
Cancellation Policy:
Fees are payable in full at the time of booking. In an event that you need to cancel your course a full refund will be offered up to 14 days in advance of the course start date or subject to availability you will be offered a transfer to an alternative course date.
Cancellations within the 14days of the course start date will result in a forfeit of the fee and no transfer option will be offered unless your position can be filled by another student up to 7days prior to the course start date.
In the event that the course is cancelled by The Carpentry Store your fee will be refunded in full or an alternative course date can be provided. The Carpentry Store will not be liable for any other costs incurred or lost through the cancellation of the course.
