You don’t have to choose between buying a surface planer or a thicknesser – with the JPT260, you can have both. JET have designed a machine that allows quick, one handed changeover between surfacing and thicknessing functions. This versatile machine features an extra large aluminum extruded fence with centered controls for quick adjustments, a built-in dust chute capable of handling both planing and jointing operations, and a powerful 1.7kW induction motor that can handle the toughest timbers. A heavy-duty, fully welded steel base cabinet houses the motor and the thicknessing table mechanism, while providing solid mounting for the associated controls and support for the surfacing tables and fence assemblies. Best of all, the fence can stay put when changing over functions. The surfacing tables are cast iron, 1,120mm long and precision planed to ensure the most accurate results. Quick adjustment of the infeed table is made possible by using an eccentric rod support. If wished the thicknessing feed rollers can be switched off. The three HSS blade cutter block results in a superior finish every time.
