Made from stainless steel, the SK80 chuck comes complete with our latest SafetyJaw© accessory mounting jaws and our most popular ‘C’ jaws.

The ‘C’ jaws bolt onto the SafetyJaw©, offering true turning versatility. The ‘C’ jaws feature two distinct gripping options. The external dovetail expands into a 55mm recess enabling you to turn bowls, platters and the like. Whilst the 42mm diameter internal grip has a stepped shoulder, for an extra firm grip on to a spigot, perfect for boxes and goblets.

These diameters apply when the jaws form a true circle. However, the beauty of the chuck’s scroll mechanism allows a wide range of movement to accommodate any deviation. Potentially the internal range is 34mm to 68mm, and the external 51mm to 86mm.

More than thirty-five years ago, Axminster produced and marketed one of the world’s first four jaw self centring chucks for woodturners.
