Features:
The Powermatic 3520C lathe is the flagship lathe from the USA’s top woodturning brand. Made almost entirely of cast iron with each part precision machined and ground to ensure smooth trouble-free movement. The headstock, tailstock and tool-rest banjo all have positive cam action locks with large polished handles. The headstock can slide up and down the entire length of the bed, which allows the turning of very large diameter work at the tailstock end of the lathe. There is provision for a bed extension with a choice of two positions.
The 3520C features electronic variable speed with low and high speed ranges driven via a 2-step, multi-groove poly-V belt for full power transmission. The control box houses the on/off buttons, speed control knob, forward/ reverse switch and digital display of both rpm and index position. The control box is removable from the headstock housing, which allows you to reposition it anywhere along the lathe bed for maximum convenience. Strong magnets within the box hold it in place. The indexing offers 48 positions (7.5° increments), the digital display helps keep track.
The tailstock quill has a laser-etched scale in metric and imperial. The quill is self-ejecting, and a 6tpi Acme thread makes movement fast and smooth. The 3520C comes with comparator centres for copy work with cast iron brackets, which fit onto the headstock and tailstock castings. The riser blocks ensure you can turn at the height you are most comfortable with; fitting the blocks adds an additional 100mm to 150mm. Other standard equipment includes 350mm tool rest, a sliding hammer knockout rod with brass tip, a drive centre and a live centre with removable cone, faceplate and spanner.
