We are delighted to announce that YouTube sensation April Wilkerson will be visiting The Carpentry Store on 1st April 2017 and we would like to extend an invitation to all the woodworkers in Ireland to come along and meet her. April is a woodworker who only started to use power tools in early 2013 to make furniture for her home. Driven by a desire to build her own she soon found herself putting together video tutorials that her audience could easily follow. April now sticks to building the things that she wants and needs in her life but the big difference is she brings a camera along. Sharing the information on how she completes her projects has become just as big of an obsession as doing the actual projects.
She sets a project that inspires you to pick up a tool to build something that you didn’t think you could. Her yes you can attitude makes you believe you can try something new. “Don’t be afraid just because you don’t know how (yet). Be cautious and safe, but if you have the motivation to build something, then take it one step at a time and even if it takes you a week to build a box, you should still build that box.”
April is a born and bred Texas girl who grew up on the coast, but now lives in Fort Worth with her husband Cody and a little herd of rescue animals. Don't miss this opportunity to chat and get your photograph taken with April on her visit to The Carpentry Store.
On Saturday 1st April we will also have a woodturning demonstration with Seamus Cassidy, Pyrography with Lisa Shackleton and a Marquetry demonstration from Godfrey Shackleton. The fun starts at 10am and will run to 3pm so drop in and meet everybody.
