Seasons Greetings 2017

Posted: Thu, 21 December 2017, 18:17

On behalf of everyone in The Carpentry Store we want to sincerely thank you for your support and custom during the year and take the opportunity to wish you all a Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year in 2018.

This year in the store was one of the most exciting and memorable so far. In January we were entertained by Andrew Hall when he came along to turn a hat and ended up turning a Blues Bowl Banjo and playing it at the end of the evening. We had so much fun with him we booked him to be our main demonstrator for our Fair in 2019.

On the 1st April we welcomed the world renowned YouTuber and Woodworker April Wilkerson. April spent the day meeting fans and telling us about why she started her channel. She was one of the most friendly and open guests we have had here and easily won the hearts of the Irish woodworkers.

We also launched our classroom and demonstration theatre during the year and ran some successful courses with Michael Wem (The Rocking Horse Shop), Sam Abernathy (Routing), Lisa Shackleton (Pyrography) and Les Thorne (Woodturning). During 2018 we will be expanding the range of courses and adding more facilities. We also have some exciting new brands on the way and we will be opening our Academy where we will have permanent displays of working Power Tools and Machinery in the spring.

Our Woodwork, Hobby & Craft Fair was our most succesful yet and saw the launch of many new products and we had more demonstrators than ever before. We want to thank all our demonstrators who shared their skills and brought the wood to life. You can see some of the examples of their work around the store. We are already looking forward to next year… Friday 9th & Saturday 10th November 2018.

We hope you will join us again in-store in 2018 for some of the demonstrations or classes, which will be shown on our events page. Keep an eye out for one of our Pop-up displays as we travel around the country. Finally just a quick reminder that we’re open until 7pm on Friday and until 1.30pm on Saturday 23rd December. We close for our annual holidays on Saturday until 2nd of January.
